  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) fish, your preferred variety
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and cumin, to taste
  • Lime for cleaning and seasoning the fish

Preparation


  1. Rinse the fish well with water and lime. Season with salt and black pepper, then let it rest briefly to absorb the flavors.
  2. Heat the oil and butter in a large skillet. Fry the fish until beautifully golden brown on both sides. Remove the fish and set aside.
  3. Slice the onion, tomato, bell pepper, and garlic. Add them to the same skillet and sauté until softened.
  4. Add the vinegar, nutmeg, and cumin. Season with additional salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Continue cooking until the vegetables are tender and a flavorful sauce has formed.
