Broken Glass Jello / Bolo di Glas
Information
Broken Glass Jello, called Bolo di Glas in Curaçao, combines colorful cubes of flavored gelatin in a creamy base. This cheerful chilled dessert is easy to recognize and popular at parties and family celebrations.Ingredients
- 1 package (3oz) strawberry gelatin (red)
- 1 package (3oz) lime gelatin (green)
- 1 package (3oz) orange gelatin
- 2 envelope unflavored gelatin
For the Creamy Gelatin :
- 2 cans of condensed milk
- 2 teaspoon of vanilla abstract
- 2 cans of Nestle Cream (8 to 10oz each)
- 1 can of evaporated milk
- 3 envelope ubflavored gelatin
- 1 large can of fruitcocktail
Preparation
- First, we start with the color gelatin and creates each colors seperately mixing half of the unflavored with each .
- In three seperate bowl, pour a cup of hot water and then ½ cup cool water. In each bowl, add the color gelatin and half envelope of the unflavored gelatin
- Mix well and pour each into a glass baking tray
- Put the trays in the refrigerator and leave them overnight.
For the creamy gelatin :
- Wet the three unflavored envelope with some cool/room temp water
- Pour ½ cup of hot water and mix the gelatin to desolve all of it.
- Beat the nestle cream until smooth then add the condensed milk, the gelatin, evaporated milk, vanilla abstract, and fruitcocktail to the cream.
- Mix everything well with a wooden spoon and then take the color gelatin out of the refrigerator.
- Cut the color gelaton in large dices or pieces and put all the color pieces in one deeper tray and pour the cream mix with the color gelatin pieces.
- Cover the tray with aluminum foil and add to the refrigerator. Can also put them in seperate plastic cup to make them easier to server or for parties.
- When mixture gets harder, with a knife get the edges loose from the tray and flip the mixture into a flat tray.
- Its ready to serve, enjoy.
