Information
Mankaron is a delicious desert that is made using coconut.
Ingredients
- 1 Coconut
- 1 cup of Water
- 1 cup of Sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1/2 cup of melted margarine or unsalted butter
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 teaspoon of Vanilla Abstract
- 1 tablespoon of coconut extract
- 2 cups of selfrising flour
- 4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
Preparation
- Turn on the oven and set it to 350 °F
- Take a 10x8x1inch baking pan and rub Crisco shortening on it, and springkle some flour on top of it
- Brake open the coconut and remove the coconut meat and schred it
- Mix the coconut, sugar, and cinnamon into a mixer bowl
- Turn on the mixer at low speed
- Add the melted butter, milk, water, vanilla extract, and coconut extract into the bowl and mix them well together.
- Increase mixer speed and add the flour, baking powder, and the salt.
- When all the mixture is mix completely, stop the mixer and pour the mixture into the baking pan.
- Put it in the oven and let it bake for about 1 hour. Stick a knife in the middle to make sure it is fully baked.
- When done, take it out of the oven and let it cool of.
- Pass a knife on the edge to loose the mankaron from the pan and flip the mankaron on to a flat pan and let it cool of a little more and then its ready to serve. Enjoy !
