Tuna Balls are a simple and flavorful dish made with tuna, potatoes, eggs, bread, and a mixture of fresh seasonings. The mixture is shaped into small balls or croquettes and fried until beautifully golden on the outside.

Ingredients
  • 1 large can of tuna
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 slice of bread
  • ½ lb. potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Oil for frying

Preparation


  1. Peel the potatoes and boil them until tender. Once cooked, mash the potatoes and set them aside to cool.
  2. Open the can of tuna and place the tuna in a bowl. Finely chop the onion, bell pepper, tomato, and garlic, then mix them with the tuna.
  3. Soak the slice of bread in the liquid from the canned tuna until slightly softened.
  4. Add the mashed potatoes, eggs, soaked bread, and nutmeg to the tuna mixture. Mix everything together thoroughly.
  5. Take a small amount of the mixture at a time and shape it into round balls or slightly elongated croquettes, according to your preference.
  6. Heat a small amount of oil in a pan. Fry the tuna balls in the hot oil until beautifully golden on all sides.
  7. Serve the Tuna Balls hot with rice or Tutu, accompanied by fried plantains and/or vegetables.
