Fish Soup aka Sopi di Piska, is a delicious and spicy fish soup that is popular on the islands of Curacao, Aruba, and Bonaire.
Ingredients
- 1 lb of fish, 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 of chopped bell pepper
- 4 chopped stalks celery
- 4-5 sprigs of minced spring onions
- 12 cups of hot water
- 3 large fish stock cubes
- 2 chopped carrots
- 2 corn on the cob (cut each into 6 pieces)
- 3-4 medium potatoes
- 1 Suriname Yellow Pepper (Madame Jeanette)
- 1/2 teaspoon Goya Complete Seasoning
- 1/4 vermicelli
- pinch of turmeric
- tomato paste

Preparation
- Clean the fish
- Cut the fish into small pieces and wash in a little water with the lemon juice.
- Drain the water.
- Peel and wash the potatoes and cut into small cubes.
- Heat the butter in a saucepan and fry the onion, garlic and peppers until soft.
- Add celery leaves, spring onion, water, bouillon cubes, carrot, corn on the cob, potatoes, yellow pepper and Goya Complete Seasoning and cook on a medium heat until the potatoes are almost tender.
- Add the fish and noodles and cook for a few minutes.
- Give the soup a nice color with the turmeric and tomato paste.
- Remove the yellow pepper.
